To simply the install, you may copy the VL2 DLLs to both the possible folders on your Windows computer. This is the suggested approach as it takes minimal time and has no unwarranted side effects.

Suggested steps:

1.1. Copy the downloaded DLL files (VL2.DLL and VL2x64.DLL) in the following folders on your computer:

Note: Your computer may not have one of the folders depending on whether the Microsoft Windows version is 32 bit or 64 bit etc. That is fine. Just copy the DLLs in the one or both of the folder(s) as appropriate for your computer.

1.1. The folder with the name "System32".

1.2. The folder with the name "SysWOW64".

Note: You may use Windows Search feature to search for the exact folder by typing "SysWOW64" or "System32" and looking for the name.

Precise Steps:

If you would like to follow precise steps.

1 Follow one of the following three steps depending on the versions of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Excel you are using (i.e. whether they are 64 bit or 32 bit). If you are in doubt, you may copy both the DLL files in both the locations!

1.1. If you are using 64 bit Microsoft Windows and 64 bit Microsoft Excel, then copy the VL2x64.DLL downloaded in step 1  into your folder with the name "System32".

1.2. If you are using 64 bit Microsoft Windows and 32 bit Microsoft Excel, then copy the VL2.DLL downloaded in step 1  into your folder with the name "SysWOW64".

1.3. If you are using 32 bit Microsoft Windows and 32 bit Microsoft Excel, then copy the VL2.DLL downloaded in step 1  into your folder with the name "System32".

Note: You may use Windows Search feature to search for the exact folder by typing "SysWOW64" or "System32" and looking for the name.

Troubleshooting:

Sometimes, if the above steps are not able to load / find the DLL in Microsoft excel, you may locate the folder on your computer where "Excel.EXE" file is located. And copy the VL2.DLL there.

For some customers, this seemed to be needed for Excel to recognize the DLL and load / run it.
